Class Dates/Times:

The 2011-2012 Emerge Owensboro program will begin with a full-day session on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Owensboro. Attendance at this opening session is mandatory. If you cannot make this class, do not apply for Emerge Owensboro this year. Most class sessions will be held on the second Thursday of each month through April, 2012 with graduation held at the May 3, 2012 Rooster Booster Breakfast. Class days will vary between half-day and full-day sessions. Please see the tentative schedule below. It is anticipated the class will take a full day trip to Frankfort, KY in February.

Thursday, October 13, 2011 – Human Needs and Services 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 – Education in our Community 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, December 8, 2011 – Innovation & Growth 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, January 5, 2012 – Issues in local Government 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Thursday, January 19, 2012 – Healthcare 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

February – Travel to Frankfort state capital (Date TBD)

Thursday, March 8, 2012 – Crime, Drugs, and Jails 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 12, 2012 – Arts in our Community 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, April 26, 2012 – Changing Your Community (class presentations) 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 3, 2012 – Emerge Owensboro Graduation 7:30 a.m.
